Meg and The Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day

THAT'S RIGHT!! It could have been a great day - but it was not! Which - to admit that a bad day on a golf course still beats being in the office is still true. But - a bad day on the golf course - is not a fun day. Every year my office enters a foursome in the Temple Square Hospitality's United Way Golf Tournament. Of which - out of 9 people in our office - I'm one of 4 that golf. So - by pure genius default - I get to play! I've never played with the owner of our company - and maybe I was nervous?!?!?! Doubtful - but a possibility none the less. We played a shotgun start scramble - and I playedTERRIBLE. I don't honestly remember the last time that I played like I did yesterday. Luckily it was a scramble so my group finished 10 under par - thanks to maybe 4 shots of mine. Idiot! With the way I played - I should just sell my clubs and turn in!! On a high note - I did end up with quite the bag of free goodies, a free lunch, won a super soft blanket and nice coffee table book in the raffle, and off 3 hours early from work!! No complaints there!

Alas - I see the beauty in the moment and it just means that I haven't been on the golf course nearly enough this summer - which means - Tally Ho - I'm destined to play more golf before the season ends! And - I'm still better than my husband - and I can say with full sincerity that I might beat my brother next May when he returns. At least for one or two rounds. YES!!! That will be a good day!

Coach, I never pegged you as a choke artist. I'm so sorry. I'm sure that however hard you were on yourself, you were 10 times better than the majority of the players there. You crack me up. By the way I'm now calling you coach because you promised to teach me how to use my new 5 year old clubs. Tell me when and I'll get rid of the munchkins. I love ya.
